Sehnsuchtsorte
Shani Sejdija
"Sehensuchtsorte" us into a world in which time does not seem to exist. Warm light floods healthy nature, pastures, forests and the lake. The calm that comes towards us reminds us of where we come from. The animals we see in the landscape paintings linger fearlessly. Contemplative huts and old farmhouses are the only witnesses of a human-populated earth. Water in the form of snow, fog or in the sea shines calmly and calmly. The motifs, which initially seem different, are united by the inherent warning that nature knows no national borders.
Shani Sejdija presents us with motifs from his old homeland Kosovo and his new homeland, the Taunus. We see the trained eye of the artist who worked as a journalist in the realistic depiction of his environment. Later in life, among other things, he worked as a bus driver, and sometimes he got out to photograph motifs for his paintings. In his small workshop he is surrounded by his pictures. If you walk past the block of houses late in the evening, you can often see him still working. Then, as a child of his time, he paints the idylls that surround us.
