Instructions for Two-factor Certificates of Authenticity

After placing your order, you will receive the certificate and the DIN A6 plaque as a PDF file via email. Print both on paper with a weight of at least 100 g/m².
The certificate of authenticity contains, in addition to the information you use to describe your artwork, a QR code on the bottom right side, which shows grayed-out areas.
The code for the gray areas is located on the other part of the two-factor authentication, namely the A6 sticker, but we'll get to that in a moment. Now you need to carefully cut out the gray areas. A utility knife works best. Make sure you don't cut off any of the QR code and that no gray areas remain.

After cutting it out, you can separate the grey areas from the certificate. That's most of the work done.
Now you need to cut the small plaque out of the paper. You can use scissors or a utility knife for this.

The plaque is now in the correct format and fits on the back or underside of most artworks.
To attach the plaque to the back of the artwork, you can use acid-free double-sided tape, archival spray adhesive, or PVA glue. Keep in mind that ideally, the plaque should remain there permanently.

You can now attach the plaque to a suitable spot on the back of the artwork. For sculptures, you can use the underside. In any case, the spot where the plaque is attached should not be visible when viewing the artwork normally.
There should be some space around the plaque; for example, it should not be placed too close to the edges of the frame. The certificate should fit snugly onto the plaque without any problems.

When selling or handing over your artwork to the lucky owner, you must enter the date and location and sign the certificate. This certifies the authenticity of your artwork and, thanks to the plaque, clearly links it to your piece!
Both parts, the certificate and the plaque, contain the secret message intended only for the rightful owner. If you're wondering why the plaque displays a complete QR code: we've filled in the sections of the code found on the certificate with a random code on the plaque for added security.

When the certificate is precisely aligned with the plaque, the readable code is generated. You, or future collectors, can then use a QR code scanner, such as a smartphone camera, to read your secret message and thus prove forever who the creator of your artwork is and was!
